HOW TO GET TO KAVALA
If you are planning to travel without your own car (e.g. by plane, train, or long-distance bus), the following section provides useful information on how to:
- Reach the city of Kavala,
- Move around the city of Kavala,
- Travel to and from Alexandroupolis

From Thessaloniki airport to Kavala
By interregional bus (KTEL):
A) First take the bus 1X from the airport terminal to the bus terminal (at least 1 hour). You can also take a taxi from the airport to the bus terminal (approximately 40 euros)
B) Check the bus itineraries. You can also make a seat reservation.
The local bus terminal at Kavala is located at 150 meters from the Airotel Galaxy.
By car:
Rates start from 28 euros per day. Please visit the following link. The distance between the Thessaloniki airport and Kavala city is approximately160 klm.
From Kavala airport to Kavala city center (18 klm away)
By taxi:
There are taxis outside the airport terminal. The cost rises approximately to 35 euros.
By car:
You have the possibility to rent a car at the airport. The fees vary around 30 euros per day. You can find here the link to the rent agencies
From Αlexandroupolis to Kavala (157 klm away)

Kavala offers a wide range of hotels, hostels, airBnBs, etc.
